Bajaj Auto Beats Quarterly Profit Estimates on Strong Export Demand
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto reported a stronger-than-expected quarterly profit, supported by rising overseas demand and favourable currency movements. The company posted a 35.3% increase in second-quarter profit to ₹3,354 crore, surpassing analysts’ average estimate of ₹3,168 crore. The results highlight the company’s strong performance amid continued demand in the domestic two-wheeler market.
Exports played a major role in driving growth, with overseas sales volumes rising 41% during the July–September quarter. Domestic demand also remained healthy, supported by the continued benefits of lower taxes introduced the previous year, although several manufacturers increased prices to offset rising costs. Strong export volumes and currency gains helped Bajaj Auto expand its operating profit margin by 40 basis points.
The company’s revenue from operations climbed 34.1% to ₹20,003 crore, reflecting improved sales momentum across its markets. The latest results underline the importance of international demand to Bajaj Auto’s growth, particularly as exports outpaced domestic sales. The automaker, known for its Pulsar motorcycle range, continues to benefit from a combination of robust overseas demand and favourable market conditions.
