India’s GCCs Transform into AI-Driven Command Hubs
India’s Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are rapidly evolving from traditional back-office cost centres into AI-powered command hubs, playing a key role in global enterprise decision-making. According to Lalit Ahuja, CEO of ANSR, these GCCs now handle end-to-end mandates across engineering, data, cybersecurity, finance, customer experience, and AI, becoming critical engines of transformation within multinational companies.
Policy clarity and government initiatives, including changes in the Union Budget 2026 and the IndiaAI Mission, are strengthening India’s position as a preferred destination for GCC investment. Faster approvals, simplified regulations, and improved digital infrastructure are enabling companies to commit long-term AI and platform investments, reducing regulatory friction and enhancing predictability for enterprise operations.
The shift has also redefined leadership roles within GCCs, with India-based teams now orchestrating global functions and coordinating AI deployment, talent management, and digital transformation mandates. This evolution positions India as a structural leader in AI-led enterprise operations, leveraging its deep talent pool, ecosystem maturity, and experience in managing complex global programs.
