‘Meat should be banned on domestic flights’; Gujarat Animal Welfare Board writes letter to Center

Gujarat Animal Welfare Board and Jain community leaders have written to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia seeking a ban on serving meat to passengers on domestic flights. The letter states that meat should not be served on domestic flights and that vegetarians should avoid accidental serving of meat.

Animal Welfare Board member Rajendra Shah said that giving non-veg food to vegetarians causes anxiety and discomfort. The letter comes after a controversy erupted over the serving of non-vegetarian food to a vegetarian passenger on a Tokyo-Delhi flight. This traveler does not even eat onions, garlic and potatoes.
