‘I don’t know who AR Rahman is, is Bharat Ratna an award’? Balakrishna becomes controversial hero again
Nandamuri Balakrishna is a Telugu actor and political leader who is often in the news for his comments. Now Balakrishna’s new interview to a local news channel is rich with such references. Balakrishna says he does not know who AR Rahman is and if the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest honor, an award.
“All these awards are equal to my feet. No award is more than my family’s contribution to Telugu cinema. I heard that a man named AR Rahman has won an Oscar award. I do not even know who Rahman is”, Balakrishna’s response
In an interview, Balakrishna also compared his style as a director to that of Hollywood director James Cameron. “I’m looking to finish shooting faster. It’s different from Hollywood director James Cameron extending the shooting of a movie into years. My belief is in making more movies in less time and creating more hits. That is my working style, “says Balakrishna.
