MP Govt to reopen a closed case against Pragya

The Madhya Pradesh government, ruled by the Congress Party, has decided to check the possibility of the reopening of an old case against BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur, in which she was acquitted due to lack of evidence.

The BJP’s Bhopal candidate was one of the eight arrested in connection with the murder of RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi. The RSS pracharak was found shot dead on 29 December 2007. It was nearly one year before the occurrence of the Malegaon incident.

The BJP has defended its candidate and termed the move as the politics of revenge.

Recently, Pragya emerged as the star campaigner of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

Most exit polls suggest that the BJP candidate will win Bhopal defeating Congress strongman Digvijaya Singh.

The developments indicate that the increased strength of the BJP due to the arrival of new leaders like Pragya irritates the Congress and the Grand Old Party is keen to do anything and everything to stop the re-emergence of the Saffron Party in the state.

Experts opine that the unnecessary use of power against the political opponents will do no good to the bright political future of the political party like the Congress.
