Monsoon Skincare Survival Guide: Beating Fungal Acne and Oiliness This Season

The monsoon season brings relief from the scorching heat, but it also introduces a new set of challenges for our skin. The increased humidity, moisture, and fluctuating temperatures can lead to various skincare issues, ranging from fungal acne to excessive oiliness. In this blog post, we will explore common skincare problems that arise during the monsoon season and provide tips to help you steer clear of them.   1. Fungal Acne: Fungal acne, also known as pityrosporum folliculitis, is a common concern during the monsoon season. The combination of sweat, excess sebum, and humidity creates an ideal environment for the growth of fungi on the skin, leading to small, acne-like bumps. To prevent fungal acne, it is crucial to keep your skin clean and dry. Use a gentle cleanser with antifungal properties and avoid heavy, occlusive skincare products that can trap moisture.
  2. Excessive Oiliness: The humidity in the air can cause an increase in sebum production, leading to oily skin during the monsoon.
