In a bid to bring a revolutionary change in the telecommunication sector, the central government has constituted a committee to articulate a roadmap for the rollout of the 5G technology.

The decision has been publicised by the Central Telecom Minister, Manoj Sinha, in a press meet organised to announce the plan of the government.

According to the report, a huge sum of five hundred crore rupees will be spent by the concerned authority in order to help the officials do the research and development of the ambitious technology.

The minister, while speaking to the media personals, has assured that our country would be on par with the world in this matter. Mr Sinha has added that when the world releases this technology, our country would also release it for the Indian people.

Once the advanced technology is launched, those telecom customers in the urban area can enjoy ten thousand megabits per second speed and those in the rural area can access one thousand megabits per second speed.

In the statement released in the press meeting, it has been noted that the telecom department would coordinate with the electronics and IT department and the science and technology department to develop the technology so these would be members from the aforementioned departments in the 5G committee.
