Renault Plans Seven Models in India by 2030
Renault plans to expand its presence in India with a lineup of seven models by 2030, including electric and hybrid vehicles. CEO Francois Provost said the company aims to make India one of its top three global markets while targeting a 5% market share as it accelerates growth in the country.
The automaker is positioning India as a key hub for innovation, production, and exports, with plans to introduce vehicles across multiple powertrains such as electric, hybrid, and compressed natural gas. It will also focus on small, affordable cars under four metres in length to strengthen its foothold in the competitive entry-level segment.
Renault expects electrified vehicles to make up about half of its sales in India by the end of the decade and aims to generate significant export revenue from the country. The move comes as global players like Toyota, Suzuki, and SAIC Motor ramp up investments, betting on India’s growing demand and its emergence as a major automotive hub.
