‘Dream Girl’:A filmmaker alleges Ayushmann Khurrana’s next venture to be a copy

‘Dream Girl’ Ayushmann Khurrana’s next venture has been making noise for all the correct reasons since the time of its announcement. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film to hit the screens to witness yet another quirky film by Ayushmann. While, everything is going right for the film, a filmmaker has accused the makers of the film for having a slight resemblence to his movie.

According to the recent reports, a filmmaker named Janak Toprani has accused the film makers of ‘Dream Girl’ that his 2017 film, ‘Call For Run’, bears resemblance to this film where we can see Ayushmann in a women’s avatar.

The filmmaker spoke to a media publication and had claimed that he had approached Balaji with his script on two occasions but it was turned down. He further explained that he got a financer last year and thus made a movie. He also agreed that Ekta Kapoor was not part of the discussion as he discussed his ideas with the production. Moreover, after repetitive attempt to reach out to Balaji CEO, Nachiket Pantvaidya, his efforts were vain.

He also stated that if ‘Dream Girl’ is similar to his film, he shall file a legal case as he wants credit as the writer and royalty rights. Furthermore, the media publication also contacted Raaj Shaandilyaa who cleared that the film’s idea is with him since 2010 and he also have registered it.

‘Dream Girl’ is written and directed by Raaj Shandilya who will be making his directorial debut. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Aashish Singh. ‘Dream Girl’ is all set to hit the theatres on 13th September 2019.
