B S Yeddyurappa, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka and BJP’s strongman, had been acquitted of all charges in the bribery case by a special CBI court on last day. The strongman of the ‘Lingayat’ community was accused of accepting bribe from the mining companies. It is said that the Karnataka BJP chief allegedly accepted nearly forty crore rupees through a trust run by his relatives when he was the Chief Minister of Karnataka. As per the report, the case had been registered in 2012 by the CBI under Section 120-B, 420, and the Prevention of Corruption act. Now, the CBI court announced that the evidence submitted by the investigative officials is not enough to prove that the former CM misused his position.

It is learned that along with him, some officials of JSW steel, and former minister and close confidante of Yeddyurappa, Ess En Krishnaiah Setty, were also acquitted of all charges. Immediately after the announcement of the judgment, the former CM and BJP chief informed his followers, through his twitter handle, that let the truth win always. Anyway, it is a crucial movement for the Karnataka BJP, which is ambitiously looking forward in regaining the power in the state in the upcoming 2018 assembly election. The party workers and supporters celebrated the acquittal of their leader. However, in order to encourage and strengthen its workers, the BJP is set to organise a grand rally on November 27. It seems that the Karnataka BJP’s happy days are back once again.
