US unhappy with India’s high tariff on American goods

The United States, it seems, is unhappy with India’s high tariff on American goods. Recently, a US lawmaker has openly expressed his country’s unhappiness with the tariff policy of the Asian country. The senator is regarded as the close confidante of US President Donald Trump.

Earlier, the US president also shared similar point of view. The president, who is the advocate of America First policy, earlier called India as Tariff King.

The unhappiness of the US over the matter of trade tariff is likely to reflect in the trade relation between the United States and India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet the US President in the sidelines of the G7 summit, which is going to take place in France.

In the meeting, the issue of trade tariff will be discussed in detail by both leaders.

The US senator said that his country’s interest was to bring down the trade tariff between the US and India to zero.

Definitely, it is not in par with the Indian interest. Indian goods may not be able to compete with its US counterparts.

India needs to develop a policy to address this crisis. The country cannot expect any favour from the US with the America First policy.
