Telangana to develop a fresh NRI policy

Taking lessons from the NRI policies implemented in Punjab and Kerala, the newest state of our country, Telangana, is planning to introduce one such policy to protect its ailing NRI population. The policy is aimed at the unemployed population, who are trying to gain a bright future through the foreign jobs. The growing incidences of visa fraud and similar unfortunate cases prove that the youth are highly vulnerable to such fraud practices, and the middle men are tactically exploiting the vulnerable community. Though an effective policy, the state is trying to ensure a safe workspace by providing insurance protection, and by increasing state assistance. The new ambitious policy was announced by the state Information and Technology Minister, K TaraKarama Rama Rao. It is learned that the Telangana policy makers will incorporate important recommendations of the Kerala NRI policy and Punjab NRI policy to articulate a feasible structure to their policy. As per report, the concerning officials were advised by the state to study the NRI policies of both states – Kerala and Punjab. A high level meeting of NRI representatives, NGOs, officials and decision makers is expected to happen on next week. Experts say that the issues regarding the foreign visa and job can be effectively reduced up to an extent through this move. Anyway, the final draft is said to be tabled before the Telangana cabinet by the concerned minister with in few weeks.
