The Sri Lankan government has banned the use of veils in the country in a manner that prevents the identification of a person.

The decision has come few days after a local Islamist terrorist group carried out a series of blasts across the country.

As many as 250 people were killed in the blast. More than 500 people were injured in the worst terror attack happened since the end of the civil war between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government.

Over 50 people have been booked so far in connection with the incident.

A recent attempt aimed to raid an alleged safe house of the terrorists culminated in the exchange of fire between the terrorist and the security forces. Around two terrorists were killed in the terror attack. And, at least 15 people, believed to be the relatives of the terrorists, were also killed at that time.
