Shikhar Dhawan replaces the injured Murali Vijay in Indian test squad for Sri Lanka

Injured Murali Vijay would be replaced by his counterpart Shikhar Dhawan for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan who had a blistering time with bat during the champions trophy would be looking at this chance to find a place back in Indian test squad. Murali Vijay on the other hand had been a disappointment  during the Australia series which the Kohli’s boys won by 2-1 lead. He was struggling with a wrist fracture through out the series and was sent to rehabilitation to recover. With months passed his wrist is not yet set to face the balls as Murali showed a bit of pain during the preparatory practise match.

India would play 3 tests, 5 ODI’s and 1 T20 against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Dhawan who clinched back his birth in Indian ODI team would be looking for a break into the test squad as well. Dhawan last featured in a test match in 2016 against New Zealand where he wasn’t that impressive. Later he was ruled out of team following his injury and rehabilitation.

The man who won the Golden bat does look in a fine shape and touch. It would be just a matter of time we see him on field with the Indian jersey on field to prove his credentials and book his spot back in test as well.
