The Indian state of Rajasthan has got nearly twenty-three new ministers today. The oath taking ceremony of the new ministers have taken place at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur. Of these twenty-three, at least thirteen are cabinet ministers, and the rest are state ministers. Importantly, one of these ministers is a lawmaker of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, which was with the Congress led alliance in the state assemble election.

The oath has been administrated by Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh. Several senior congress leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot have attended the ceremony.

It is the first time the newly elected Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has expanded his ministry since he and his colleague and biggest rival Sachin Pilot took the oath of office as the CM and Deputy CM reservedly immediately after the assembly election result in which the grand old party was declared as winner.

It is after a tough negotiation with the party’s new guards that one of the old guards was permitted to enter the key position of the newly formed congress government in the state.

The expansion of ministry is a tough job, especially when there are many ministerial aspirants around. Mr CM, it seems, has so far done his part well.

B D Kalla, Shanti Kumar Dhariwal, Parsadi Lal Meena, Ramesh Chand Meena, and Saleh Mohammad are the prominent leaders in the newly formed cabinet of Ashok Gehlot.
