Rafale deal hurts NDA

With the Congress party preparing to project the Rafale deal as a prime issue in the upcoming general election and in the present and upcoming parliament sessions to taint the corruption free image of the BJP led central government, the NDA led government is likely to suffer serious damages to its image in the near future if it fails to find a way out from the clutches of the issue.

The Congress leader has submitted a privilege motion to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for giving a misleading statement regarding the Rafale deal during the discussion session of the no confidence motion in the parliament.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, through his tweeter message, has alleged that the NDA government has purposefully changed the defence ministers frequently since it took the charge to lead the nation in order to make sure that the PM gets adequate space to personally renegotiate the Rafale deal with France.

He has also alleged that none of the defence ministers who have occupied the post since the year 2014 are completely aware about the provisions of the deal.

Can the BJP convincingly defend its leaders’ opinion that the act of disclosing the details of the deal is against the interest of the nation?
