The Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind, who has expressed his displeasure over the unpleasant events happened during the National Film Award function, has conveyed his dissatisfaction to the Prime Minister’s Office.

In last Thursday, as many as fifty-five awardees boycotted the award function, citing that they were not informed prior to the rehearsal function that only selected awardees would be granted the privilege to accept awards from the President and the rest of the awardees would have to accept the awards from the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Smriti Irani.

Not more than eleven awards could be given during the award function due to the aforementioned reason, spoiling the entire beauty of the prestigious event, for which the whole national was waiting.

Immediately after the event, the President’s office has said that as per its new policy the president would not stay more than an hour in any function and this policy has been strictly followed since his inception. The representative of the office has added that each and every ministry has been well informed about the new policy.

Some people allege that some members have used the opportunity to politicise the issue. A well known Malayalam industry actor has quipped that why those showed no reluctance to accept awards from pickle businessmen express uneasiness to accept award from the I&B Minister.
