PM Modi in China for a two day informal summit with Xi

Indicating a radical shift in India’s attitude towards China, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has reached the Chinese City of Wuhan for a two day informal summit with the world most populated country’s leader, Xi Jinping.

A source, who has knowledge about the developments, has informed an International media that the prime focus of the present visit of Indian PM to China will be the foreign policies.

If the source’s information is worth trustable, the ongoing informal summit would make some radical changes in the foreign policies of both countries.

In the meeting, the leaders are also expected to discuss some sensitive issues adversely affecting the bilateral relation between Delhi and Beijing such as the Indo-China border dispute and the Tibet issue.

There is no doubt that all International players would closely observe the summit and the developments which are expected to happen after the summit.

The time both countries choose to organise such a informal meeting is very crucial in several senses.

The next part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the mega free trade agreement for which around ten ASEAN countries and six powerful countries such as India, China and Australia have been negotiating for years, is scheduled to take place in the first week of May.

At this moment, it is not clear the ongoing informal meeting between China and India has any implications in this front.
