Bangladesh Liberation War Honour were handed over to BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Namita Bhattacharya, former Prime Minister’s foster daughter and her husband Ranjan Bhattacharya was been handed over the award by Modi in Vajpayee’s residence. Susham Swaraj, external affairs Minister was present at this even.
Bangladesh has conferred its prestigious liberation war honour on Vajpayee for his “active role” in its independence struggle and consolidating friendship with India.
Modi had received the honour on behalf of Vajpayee during his recent visit to Bangladesh as Vajpayee was not present at this event.
The Prime Minister tweeted that “he visited Atal ji & was delighted to hand over the Bangladesh Liberation War Honour to his family.
