Obese adults are highly vulnerable to type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke: Researchers
In a shocking report, it has been revealed that the child and teenage obesity rate have increased nearly ten-fold in the last forty years.
It has been said that the obese child and obese teenager are more likely to become an obese adult than a normal child and teenager.
The researchers have identified that the obese adults are highly vulnerable to type two diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
The unchecked availability of those calorie-rich food items, which has no nutrient value, in the market is the main reason for the rapid rise in the obesity level in the children and teenagers, as those belonging to this age group are the prime consumers of the aforementioned food products.
The authorities should take special initiative to promote the healthy food habits among the youth and child populations and should make sure that the unhealthy food items do not get access to the markets.
