‘Mission Mangal’: Akshay Kumar’s new movie stays strong still in the box office on the second day

Mission Mangal’ was one of the much awaited movies of 2019 which depicted the true events of India successfully launching the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan). The film hit the theatres on 15th August and received a massive received a massive response. 

After recording the highest opening day, the film saw a fantastic second day. As per the reports of Box office India, the film has managed to collect Rs. 16.75-17 crore nett approx to take its two day total of Rs. 45 crore nett plus. Although, there is a drop of 40%, this is actually a bigger achievement than the first day. As the first day had the benefit of a big holiday.

According to the Day 2 collections in Mumbai, it is Rs.16 crore nett but at Delhi / UP is around Rs. 9.50 crore nett. It is garnering good collections in Mumbai, Mysore and West Bengal. The film has a solid potential to stay strong over the weekend especially on Saturday. As per the day two collections it ensures that the movie is a hit.

Meanwhile, ‘Mission Mangal’ has recorded the highest ever opening day collection for Akshay Kumar, beating his previous Independence Day release ‘Gold’ which had recorded Rs 23.63 crore on its first day. Akshay’s ‘Kesari’ which released this year had amassed Rs 20.40 crore on its opening day. The film is directed by Jagan Shakthi, hit the screen on August 15.
