Miss South India 2017 Bavithra speaks out

_MG_2757Bavithra, serene and ravishing beauty from Tamil Nadu walked on stage as the winner of Miss South India 2017, presented by Manappuram finance limited and the 15th Miss South India contest is directed by Ajit Ravi and his wife Jebitha, owners of Pegasus who also co-organised the competition. The contest was held at Camelot convention centre Alleppey, Kerala on Friday, January 27th. She won a cash reward of one lakh and was crowned by previous winner Meera Mitun. Reshma RK Nambiar from Kozhikode and Varna Sampath from Karnataka were crowned as first runner up and second runner up respectively.

Bavithra is one of those women who simply followed her heart and took a leap of faith. Talking to Unique Times over the phone, Bavithra said “I just did it. Miss South India contest was a big surprise. I knew that there was a lot to learn from the experiences. That’s what I was aiming for. I had no expectations whatsoever”. She was crowned as the 15th Miss South India before the large audience, “I still can’t believe that. I get reminded when people say, ‘you won, congratulations’. Previous winner Meera Mitun was there and I asked her to pinch me because I wanted to confirm if I am dreaming or not”, she laughs, “It was so surreal and the happiest moment in my life. I will always cherish it and be grateful to all those who helped me along the way. My friends who didn’t give up on me even when I myself didn’t believe in myself. My parents who let me chase my dreams and my co-contestants and groomers. Everyone who was involved and I got to experience that big day”.
