Malayalam poet M N Paloor passes away
Poet M N Paloor at 86 took his last breath at his residence in Kavoor.
Paloor Madhavan Namboothiri was born in 1932 at Parakkadavu in Ernakulam district. A scholar in Sanskrit and Kathakali. Paloor started up his career life as a driver and later he became an officer in Air India.
Paloor’s “Ushas” was his well-acclaimed poem. Some of his noted literary works are Theerthayathra, Pedithondan, Kalikalam, Sugam Sangeetham, Bhangiyum Abhanigiyum, Kavitha, Pacha Manga and Kathayillathavante Katha (autobiography). His overall contribution has won Sathiya Akademi award in 2013, Kerala Sahithya Akademi award, Asan Memorial Poetry Prize.
He was survived by his wife and Shanthakumari and daughter Savitri
