She was in 12th when Uttrakhand’s flood occurred and she was impressed by the acts of the armed forces.

AanchalGangwal, a 24 year old from Neemuch district in north-western part of Madhya-Pradesh has been the only one to be selected into the flying branch of the Indian Air Force (IAF), from the state. She was congratulated by State Minister of Women and child development Smt. Archana Chitmis on being selected in the IAF. The proudest of all was her father Suresh Gangwal, a tea seller in Neemuch bus stand. It was her biggest dream to be a fighter pilot, mainly after the rescue mission done by the armed forced in Uttrakhand after the devastating flood.

She was facing financial crisis, but she just wouldn’t give up on her dream to join in IAF. She worked hard, making her the captain of the class and she won scholarships which helped her to get into Vikram University in Ujjain. Soon after that she started appearing for public competitive exams and employment. She has cracked the police sub inspectors exam and had joined the training but the tough schedule wouldn’t allow her to prepare for her dream so then she decided to wait until the results of labour inspector exam were declared. She decided to go for it since she found the schedule very easy and she had time to prepare for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). But cracking AFCAT was a biggest task, in few years she appeared for the interview 5 times until the 6th time she was selected. She was among the 22 students out of 6 lakh students who appeared for the test, and among 5 girls and the only one being from Madhya Pradesh.

She will be leaving for the training on June 30th to Hyderabad. Her father is the happiest and he never let any financial crisis affect his kids and their dreams. He took loan and educated his three kids which includes Aanchal. His elder son is coaching in Indore for engineering and his youngest daughter is pursuing her 12th as said by Suresh Gangwal.
