KSRTC launch Electric bus
Kerala State Road Transport Corportation (KSRTC) launched its first electric bus. Yesterday, minister of Transport A K Saseendran inaugurated the trial run of the bus.
The first run took from Thampanoor to Pattom and later from Medical college to Kazhakkootam. This eco-friendly bus cover routes like East Fort, Kovalam, Pappanamcode and Technopark. For next five days, the electric bus will be on run-in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, trail run is scheduled to run in Ernakulam and latter Kozhikode. The ticket price is same as the city AC low floor buses.
Based on the success story, KSRTC will launch more electric buses. ‘The LDF government will not act in a detrimental way to KSRTC or public.’ Said transport minister.
According to KSRTC MD Tomin K Thachankary, Electric motos control the speed of the bus and if the run goes access 300 E-Buses will be operated successfully.
