‘Kaithi’: Karthi’s new venture to hit on Diwali

Karthi will be soon seen in an upcoming movie ‘Kaithi’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ fame. The film was initially planned to release on July 19, the makers have now officially announced that the film will hit the theatres for Diwali. With the festival falling on October 27 (Sunday), looks like the film will release on October 25 (Friday).

‘Kaithi’ in Tamil means prisoner and Karthi will be playing the role of a prisoner in the film. The movie is said to take place in jail with Karthi and fellow inmates planning a prison break. Filming was completed in 62 nights as the most part of the film was shot in the night. The film will not feel the absence of a heroine since Karthi does not have a romantic interest in the film.

The film is produced by SR Prabhu and Tiruppur Vivek under the banner Dream Warrior pictures in association with Vivekananda Pictures. Narain, Dheena, George Mariyan, Vijay TV Dheena and others are also seen in the movie playing pivotal roles. The music for the film is done by Sam CS and the cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan.
