‘Jabariya Jodi’: Siddharth Malhotra and Parneeti Chopra starrer sees a dull start in box office on first weekend
Siddharth Malhotra and Parneeti Chopra starrer ‘Jabariya Jodi’ directed by Prashanth Singh witnessed a poor start at the box office on the first weekend. This is for the second time the lead actors are sharing the screen space after the 2014 film ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, however the actor has failed to impress the audience again as the previous film.
According to the reports, the film has managed to collect a total of 4.50 crore on Sunday at the box office and a total of 11 crore in its first weekend at the box office.
The first day collection of the movie decides the lifetime collection of the movie. The release of the movie was postponed by the makers for not to have clashed with other releases and to have a solo release at the theatres. But this seemed to have done very little to save the film.
The film is based on the groom kidnapping instances that take place in different parts of Bihar where the bride’s family kidnaps the groom and forces the groom to marry the girl. Siddharth plays the role of a thug who kidnaps the groom and Parneeti is his love interest.
Aparshakti Khurrana, Jaaved Jafferi, Sanjay Mishra and Chandan Roy Sanyal are also seen in the movie playing pivotal roles The film is directed by Prashanth Singh and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Shaailesh R Singh. ‘Jabariya Jodi’ hit the screens on August 9, 2019.
