India celebrates Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary
Today, the South Asian country of India is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who is regarded as the Father of the Nation.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbandar in Gujarat. He was a lawyer by profession. His entry to the politics of India was accidental.
M K Gandhi is widely respected due to his role in the Indian Freedom Movement. He led the Indian Freedom Movement. It was under his leadership that India grabbed independence from the British colonials.
The Congress leader is not only respected in India, but also respected across the world. The concept of non-violence he propagated is looked at with great respect by the world. He has inspired several non-violent movements across the world, especially in South Africa.
Unfortunately, he was assassinated few months after the nation had got independence.
His messages even Today continue to guide and lead the country.
There is no other political figure in the history of the country who is as acceptable as M K Gandhi. He is looked at with great respect by all alike. The quality of this man is that even his political opponents see him with great respect.
Even there is a political concept exist in the world by his name: Gandhism. That concept is based on the ideas, principles and values taught by the great leader. That concept has many followers across the world.
