Gunshot attack: Umar Khalid criticises those who breed hatred

er;f

Jawaharlal Nehru University students’ leader Umar Khalid, who last day sustained a serious gun short attack, has today strongly criticised those people, who has been breeding the dangerous feeling of hatred with the support of the power that was bestowed on them by the common people for their well-being and peace.

Last day, Mr Khalid was attacked by an unidentified man in the heart of the national capital Delhi, while he was going to attend an event named “Freedom from Fear”.

The police authorities have not yet traced the unidentified attacker. The JNU students’ leader has sought the protection of police as he has been receiving serious threats to his life.

Through a public statement, the young leftist leader has asked the existing rightist regime can the top leadership of the country guarantee that those who criticise the existing regime will not be hurt.

The young leader has opined that the real culprits of such attacks are those who offer an atmosphere of impunity in the society to those who engage in such hate crimes. He has added that those who advocate for the culprits in the TV channel shows are equally responsible for such crimes as that of the facilitators and implementers.

Can ‘Freedom’ and ‘Fear’ peacefully coexist in a society?
