Gujjar community jolts Rajasthan
The Gujjar Community has launched a severe agitation across Rajasthan demanding at least five per cent reservation for the community in jobs and educational institutions.
The community has reminded the ruling party of state Congress that it was with their support the party defeated the BJP in the state.
They have warned that they would withdraw their support if the grand old party did not pay heed to their demands.
The community members have disrupted the train services across the state. Many trains have been either cancelled or diverted due to the disruption.
The Gujjar Sangharsh Samiti, the organisation formed by the Gujjar community members, is the one which spearheads the disruption for the community.
The Congress party has not yet commented about the development. Meanwhile, several local BJP leaders have supported the disruption.
The GSS is well aware that it can exert pressure over the Congress at this juncture as the grand old party cannot make any significant gains in the state in the upcoming general election without the support of the Gujjar community.
