FORD ENDEAVOUR

The Ford Endeavour that we drove here is the top of the line version with the 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that makes 197bhp of peak power and 480Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and comes exclusively with an all-wheel-drive package. The 3.2-litre engine is great to drive and putting your foot hard down on the throttle makes the Endeavour accelerate like a train! The 6-speed gearbox isn’t slow and coupled with the torquey engine. And, the shifts are very well going through the gears without much lag. In manual mode, it even allows downshifts at fairly high revs and holds on to a gear without upshifting even when it is redlining.
The Endeavour 4×4 gets a capable yet fairly easy to use four wheel drive system. Adapted from the Land Rover terrain response dial, the Endeavour offers modes like gravel, sand and snow apart from hill descent control. You will also get a conventional low range option along with a locking differential. We couldn’t fully test its off-roading capabilities, but the hardware does look promising.
