Five varieties of Indian coffee get GI certification

coffeeFive classes of Indian coffee have been awarded Geographical Indication (GI), a move that enhanced their visibility globally and allows growers to get the best value.

While Coorg Arabica coffee is grown specifically in Kodagu district of Karnataka, Wayanad Robusta coffee is from Wayanad district in East Kerala, Chik, Arakku Valley Arabica coffee from hilly tracks of Vishakhapatnam, Chikmagalur Arabica coffee from Chikmagalur district in Deccan plateau of Karnataka and Bababudangiris Arabica coffee from the central portion of Chikmagalur district.

The Coffee Board of India will collaborate with Bengaluru based digital commodity administration platform Eka software for the community of blockchain marketplace value.
