Five dead and many injured in Raebareli rail accident
Nearly five people have been killed and several others injured in a rail accident happened today near Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh.
The Raebareli police, through its twitter handle, have informed us that around five people have been killed and over seven people injured in the accident.
It is assumed that the train has derailed somewhere near Raebareli. At this moment, it is not clear where exactly the train has derailed.
It is the timely interference of the police and medical authorities which have brought down the number of casualties to the lowest. For that reason, they deserve a special appreciation for their contribution.
An investigation is on to determine how these accidents have occurred. The authorities have asked the concerned to do a thorough investigation into the matter.
Those passengers who have been interrupted due to the accident have been offered special travel service to continue their journey after they have been given adequate medical assistance.
It is high time to constitute a special committee to study why the Indian railway system suffers accidents frequently, to point out where the problem lies, and to suggest how these problems can be defeated.
