Cyclone Fani: around eight lost life
Around eight people has lost their life as a disastrous cyclone, named Cyclone Fani, which was born in the Bay of Bengal, has made landfall in Puri, the costal district situated close to the Odisha’ capital of Bhubaneswar.
The Cyclone has badly affected all kinds of transport facilities available in the country, such as road, rail and rain transport facilities.
It was the timely interference of the authorities that averted a huge danger. Had the authorities not taken up the measures to address the crisis of this scale, the damages would have been much higher than what it is now.
Lakhs and lakhs of people living in and around the vulnerable regions, particularly the coastal regions, were evacuated to safer camps set up by the authorities.
The state and central governments have done sincerely whatever they can to bring the impact of the natural disaster to its lowest.
Fortunately, they have completely succeeded in their task.
