CBFC Chief Pahalaj Nihlani sacked

Pahlaj Nihalani has been replaced by Prasoon Joshi as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Film. Mr Nihalani was sacked due to his admant way of working where even an ordinary movie looked like an adult movie. His insignificant cuts were a talk in the town. Especially due the Udta Punjab controversy, he was challenged by the director of the movie. Like this, he has been involved in numerous numbers of unwanted controversies.

Veteran Actor Raza Murad said “Whatever has been done will be welcomed by the industry. Mr Joshi should take the lead from Nihalani. Producers were feeling suffocated by the high handedness of the chief. Mr Joshi would be much easier to approach”.

Mr Joshi, known as the Adman, is also a renowned poet  and writer. Though he had competition from filmmakers like Prakash Jha and Madhur Bhandarkar for the post of the chief. He eventually won it.
