BJP’s Big List is Out; Things Not Favourable for Congress
The most awaited candidate list is out. The BJP has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming General Election. Many star leaders have found place in the first list. The prominent among them are Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Indian supremo will contest from Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), one of the two Lok Sabha constituencies from which he was elected during the last General Election. Meanwhile, the BJP President and former BJP president and Union Home Minister will contest from Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) respectively. Senior Union Minister Smriti Irani is another big name in the list. She will contest against Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. Notably, many top figures have failed to find a place in the list. The prominent among them are former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani –it is in the seat this veteran BJP leader has represented at least six times that the BJP president is going to contest this time. Anyway, the latest BJP candidate list is far better than others. With the list, the BJP has wristed a slight edge over the others. It seems that the things are not that favourable for the Congress. At present, the only state in which the Grand Old Party has placed a strong set of candidates to take on its opponents is Kerala. As per a pre-poll survey report, the Congress is likely to grab at least sixteen seats in Kerala.
