‘Bhagya’ may help Congress to win Karnataka: Experts

jv

Bhagya’ is the common suffix used in almost all welfare schemes launched by the Karnataka government led by Congress leader Siddaramaiah. The welfare schemes are the strength of the grand old party when it seeks a second consecutive victory in the state in the upcoming election.

Some experts have opined that the welfare schemes run by the Congress government of Karnataka might help the party to win the state once again.

Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya, Arogya Bhagya and Saala Bhagya are the popular Bhagyas the state government runs. Of these Bhagyas, the Anna Bhagya, which ensures that no person of the state is deprived of his/her right to live a huger free life, is the most popular Bhagya.

The government has been spending at least forty per cent of the total budget allocation each year to run the Bhagyas since it won the helm of the state government from the BJP.

However, these are allegations that the welfare programs run by the Congress government in the state are of a populist character.

Anyway, the Congress party and the Karnataka Chief Minister have dismissed all allegations which highlight the populist character of the state’s welfare schemes.

Can the congress party win the state with the help of Bhagyas?
