Apple wins major lawsuit against Samsung

Apple won a major victory against Samsung on Friday, in one of the biggest patent cases, Apple won more than $1billion. According to reports, analysts said that the damages could be more because jurors found Samsung “willfully” infringed on patents. The jury awarded $1.049 billion in favour of Apple. The court rejected Samsung’s counterclaims against Apple. The South Korean firm said in a statement that the verdict was “not the final word” in this case or other similar battles around the world. the verdict was “a loss” for consumers and that Apple had “manipulated” the patent system. The court verdict will affect patents on different Samsung gadgets like Galaxy Smartphone and Galaxy 10 tablet computer. But devices like Galaxy S III will not be affected by this verdict.
