Anand Mahindra Apologises over Social Media.
Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra group on Friday apologised for sacking of a tech Mahindra employee by a company HR representative in a pretty bizarre manner. The matter sprang over social media when an audio clip between the HR representative and the employee went viral over social media.
He tweeted “ I want to ass my personal apology. Our core value is to preserve the dignity of the individual & we’ll ensure this does not happen in future.” Mahindra group CEO also tweeted an apology on the matter and ensured that right steps would be taken to make sure it doesn’t repeat in the future.
The audio clip that recorded the conversation between the HR representative and the employee when the HR representative was heard telling an employee to resign by 10 am next day or get ready to be terminated without even settling the pending dues went viral over social media. It is an outcome of clash between the companies strategic priorities and client requirement that has led to such a downfall.
According to the reports, around 60000 Tech Mahindra employees have lost their jobs in last two years. Also reports claim that the company is about to cut off nearly 6000 – 7000 employees, which is considered as one of the biggest layoff of the year in the IT sector. The layoff’s clearly show’s us the darker side of the industry where client mostly opt for automated work which doesn’t require much employee putting the companies in much pressure situations.
