An era comes to end: Dhoni retires as Indian Cricket Captain

Our favourite caption, who gifted as a world cup after twenty-eight disappointing years and captained our team to 110 wins from 199 one day matches and 41 wins from 72 twenty-twenty matches, M S Dhoni communicated his retirement proposal to the ‘Board of Control for Cricket in India’. The Ranchi wicketkeeper, who already retired from the test cricket, was the only captain in the history of world cricket to win each of the ICC trophies. While speaking to the media personals after receiving the formal resignation from the Indian Captain, a BCCI representative expressed that Dhoni had touched all possible heights and his contributions to the Indian Cricket would remain as historic achievements. He gained popularity when he was selected to lead the T20 matches. He learned under Rahul’s captaincy and took the helm of the Indian Cricket when Anil Kumble retired as the captain. Since the news regarding the Dhoni’s retirement has been publicized, the social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have been flooding with messages supporting their dearest captain. Several prominent personalities like BCCI president Anurag Thakur have used their Twitter handle to express their feelings regarding the latest developments in Indian cricket. Anyway, the latest reports say that the Indian captain will be available for selection of the three ODIs and T20s against England.
